Get Up: The Power of Rising After Failure
Share
Life has a way of knocking us down. As wives, mothers, and women juggling countless responsibilities, we face moments when things don’t go as planned. The business didn’t succeed, the job opportunity fell through, the relationship hit a rough patch, or parenting feels overwhelming. I know it hurts. I know you feel defeated. But let me tell you—sulking, crying, and staying in that place of disappointment will not solve the problem.
Yes, take a moment to feel your emotions. Acknowledge the frustration, the sadness, and the anger. But then, get up. Staying down is not an option.
Pray, Then Find Solutions
The first thing to do when life knocks you down is to turn to God. Pray for wisdom, strength, and clarity. Ask Him to guide you in what to do next. But remember, faith without works is dead. After you pray, it’s time to act. Start looking for solutions. What went wrong? What can you learn? What’s the next step? The answers won’t come from staying in bed replaying the failure over and over again in your mind. They come when you stand up, dust yourself off, and get moving.
You Are Not the Only One
We often go through struggles and act as if we are the only person to ever experience hardship. But failure, setbacks, and disappointments are a part of life for everyone. Look at the stories of those who have succeeded—they have all faced moments where things did not go as planned. The difference between those who thrive and those who remain stuck is the decision to rise again.
Victim or Victor? You Choose.
The easiest thing to do is stay in a cycle of victimhood. To complain, to dwell on the unfairness, and to accept defeat. But what does that accomplish? Nothing. If you want to build a better life, a better marriage, a better future for your children—you have to get up. Figure out what to do next, and then do it. Even if you’re scared. Even if you’re tired. Even if you don’t feel ready.
Failure is not the end of the road unless you choose to stay down. Get up. Pray. Make a plan. Take action. The only way to break free from disappointment is to rise above it.
You are stronger than you think. Now is the time to prove it.
